Hey, it’s my 100th post!
I would not have guessed I’ve written 100 posts on this blog. I only know because the stats tell me. Otherwise I might have guessed I’d written maybe 50, 60? Acknowledging my 100th post feels both celebratory and arbitrary. Like, it’s cool, but also Neil deGrasse Tyson would probably wrinkle his nose at the whole thing. He’d say I might as well celebrate my 268th post – they’re both just numbers, equally likely to be randomly generated as any other.
Well, to hell with your killjoy theories, Neil deGrasse Tyson. I’m celebrating it.

Incidentally, I earlier very briefly posted this blurb to my previous post, but quickly realized that post was only my 99th. This is my 100th.
Just as well, because it fits more with this post, which is all about cool news. Speaking of which: I am officially registered for the Popular Brooklyn Half Marathon! Here’s proof!
This race, according to NYRR’s site, is the largest half marathon in the country. I checked out last year’s results and it looks like there were over 27K finishers. That’s… a lot. I’m really excited about it. I even know a few friends who signed up, so it’ll be fun to see them. That is, if I can find them.
Unless I run another between now and May, this will be my second half marathon.
I’m also super excited to run through Brooklyn! I’ve never run a race in Brooklyn. The only places in Brooklyn I’ve ever run are McCarren Park (small, flat) and a treadmill on the top floor of my former building. But running from the Brooklyn Museum to Coney Island? Yes please!
And finally, MORE cool news: I am already 32% of the way to my fundraising goal for the TCS New York City Marathon and Fred’s Team! If I reach my goal soon, I’ll raise it to the next level goal. I’m so grateful and happy about how this has gone so far. Thank you to everyone who’s donated.
Wow, that was a lot of cool news. I was right!
It’s going to be an exciting year for you!
